Mme. Trecroce’s Grade 12 French Immersion Religion class, once again, spearheaded the Operation Smile campaign and it was a huge success! Operation Smile is an international medical charity that has provided hundreds of thousands of free surgeries for children and young adults in developing countries who are born with cleft lip, cleft palate or other facial deformities. The campaign ran from October 11, 2017 - October 20, 2017 and included events such as “Kidnap a Teacher,” a dodgeball tournament, a teacher lip sync contest, and a Mario Kart tournament. Deep fried smiley fries and freshly baked smiley cookies were also sold and the newly designed Operation Smile shirts that were sold were a huge hit. Over $6000.00 was raised, providing surgeries for twenty-five smiles. Thanks to Mme. Trecroce, her Grade 12 French Immersion Religion class and the St. Mary’s College student body and community for providing many new smiles!
